APTRA's 2009 Election
The Associated Press Television-Radio Association (APTRA) is
now electing officers for two-year terms in California, Nevada,
Hawaii, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho, Washington, Colorado, Utah,
Montana, Wyoming and Alaska. The election will take place on
APTRA's website www.aptra.org as part of a new process approved
unanimously by the APTRA board at its January meeting.
The following offices are open: President, Vice President,
(Nominees may run from any state)
APTRA Board: one radio board member from Nevada, one radio board member from Hawaii; one TV board member from Arizona; one TV board member from New Mexico, one radio board member from Idaho, one TV board member from Idaho; one radio board member from Washington, one TV board member from Washington; one radio board member from Colorado, one TV board member from Colorado; one radio board member from Utah, one TV board member from Utah; one TV board member from Montana; one radio board member from Wyoming, one TV board member from Wyoming; one radio board member from Alaska, one TV board member from Alaska.
Carryover board members with one year remaining on their term, are: Paul Atkinson, KJZZ-FM, Phoenix, Arizona; Steve Gregory, KFI-AM, Los Angeles, California; John McBreen, KYVA-FM, Gallup, New Mexico; Jackie Yamanaka, Yellowstone Public Radio, Billings, Montana.; Chris Archer, KGMB-TV, Honolulu, Hawaii; Tim Kiley, KESQ-TV, Palm Desert, California; Zach Pearl, KOH-AM, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Calvert Collins, KLAS-TV, Las Vegas, Nevada.
If you work for a radio or tv station that gets its news from
The Associated Press you are automatically a member of APTRA and
are eligible to run for office and eligible to vote.

The Election Timeline:
1. April 1-15 - nominations accepted
2. April 15 - nominations are closed
3. April 16 - candidates will be posted in the afternoon
4. April 29 - voting commences on www.aptra.org
5. May 13 - voting ends
6. May 20th - winners are announced
