APTRA's 2009 Election Results
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ The Associated Press Television and Radio Association has announced the results of its 2009 election for officers and board members.
After its first online election for the newly expanded 12-state organization, APTRA has its first president and vice president from outside of California.
Outgoing APTRA President Hal Eisner says "This is going to be a very exciting couple of years for APTRA with new leadership, bringing fresh ideas to this great organization."
APTRA's new president is Ross Becker, a news anchor for KTVX ABC4 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Becker has had a long and active association with the organization, having served on the APTRA board.
Replacing Roberta Gonzalez from KPIX TV as vice president will be Calvert Collins, reporter/anchor at KLAS-TV, Las Vegas.
Becker and the other newly elected officers and board members will assume leadership on Sunday, June 28 during APTRA's convention weekend at Universal Studios Hollywood.
The newly elected board members are: Michelle Germano, KOLD-TV, Tucson, Arizona; Robby Messer, KIVI-TV, Boise, Idaho; John Shaffer, KDWN, Las Vegas, Nevada; Scott Seeger, KSL, Salt Lake City, Utah; Tom Durian, KHQ-TV, Spokane, Washington.
Returning board members with one year remaining on their term, are: Paul Atkinson, KJZZ-FM, Phoenix, Arizona; Steve Gregory, KFI-AM, Los Angeles, California; John McBreen, KYVA-FM, Gallup, New Mexico; Jackie Yamanaka, Yellowstone Public Radio, Billings, Montana.; Chris Archer, KGMB-TV, Honolulu, Hawaii; Tim Kiley, KESQ-TV, Palm Desert, California.
